Kling vs Seedance: Picking Between Seedance 2.5 and Kling 3.0
Published By DreamClip
Kling vs Seedance comes down to the take. Pick Seedance 2.5 when the clip is long, when it has to land on a second image, or when the shot is nature, weather or scale: it renders any length from 4 to 30 seconds, takes a start and an end frame, and renders six shapes, from 21:9 wide to 9:16 tall, plus auto. Pick Kling 3.0 when the clip is a product or a person in a square or vertical frame, when 15 seconds is plenty, and when the cost per second matters: it renders 3 to 15 seconds at 720p or 1080p, square, 16:9 or 9:16, with a separate 4K card for a native 4K master.
Both are on sale on DreamClip, both render sound with the picture by default, and both animate a photo. Each is a family of five cards here, Seedance from 1.5 Pro to 2.5 and Kling from V3 Turbo to the two 4K cards, so this page compares the two flagships and then says which sibling to open instead when the flagship is the wrong buy.
Every length, size, shape and sound fact below is printed from our catalog, not typed from a brochure, and the prompts are ones you can run. To see the pair on your own prompt, Compare runs up to four of these cards at once and never bills a lane that fails.
Kling vs Seedance: the short answer by job
Each job below gets one card and one reason. Prices stay relative: Kling 3.0 costs less per second than Seedance 2.5 at the sizes the two share, and the smaller Seedance cards start lower than either.
| The job | Open | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A single take of 16 to 30 seconds | OpenSeedance 2.5 | WhyThe only card on this page that runs past 15 seconds |
| A clip that must end on a specific image | OpenSeedance 2.5 | WhyTakes a start and an end frame; Kling 3.0 takes a start frame only |
| A landscape, a storm, a flock, a city from above | OpenSeedance 2.5 | WhyLong, wide shots suit it, and 21:9 is a shape it renders |
| A product shot for a vertical or square ad | OpenKling 3.0 | WhyClean physical motion on objects, 9:16 and 1:1 native, lower cost per second |
| A 4K master | OpenKling 3.0 4K, or Seedance 2.0 | WhyBoth render native 4K; Seedance 2.5 tops out at 1080p here |
| A character built from several photos | OpenSeedance 2.0 Fast | WhyThe one reference-photo mode in the catalog |
| Twenty cheap drafts to find a shot | OpenSeedance 1.5 Pro or Seedance 2.0 Mini | WhyThe lowest per-second starts in the Seedance family |
| Silent b-roll for a voiceover | OpenSeedance 1.5 Pro with sound off, or Kling O3 Omni | Why1.5 Pro has the lowest silent rate on this page; O3 Omni is the Kling card that starts silent |
Either flagship can take a given prompt, so the last section is a method you run, not a ruling.
The Seedance family in one table: 1.5 Pro, 2.0 Mini, 2.0 Fast, 2.0, 2.5
Seedance is ByteDance's video model line, and five of its cards are on sale here. ByteDance's own Seedance page describes the family's native multi-shot generation, narrative clips with several cohesive shots, and 1080p output for its first generation (checked October 2026); the later cards widened the lengths, the sizes and the frame modes. The at-a-glance table is printed from our catalog and includes the four Kling cards this page covers.

Which Seedance card to open
- Seedance 2.5: the flagship. 4 to 30 seconds, 480p to 1080p, six shapes plus auto, sound on by default, a start and an end frame. Our hero reel runs on it. The most expensive Seedance card per second at any size they share, so draft elsewhere and finish here.
- Seedance 2.0: 4 to 15 seconds, 480p up to native 4K, the same shapes and frames. The card for a 4K master from the Seedance side.
- Seedance 2.0 Fast: 4 to 15 seconds at 480p or 720p, a start and an end frame, and the one reference mode in the catalog: up to nine photos with the start image counted. The Video studio opens on it. Its preview, a street vendor flipping noodles at dusk with natural street sound, came from its own prompt.
- Seedance 2.0 Mini: 4 to 15 seconds at 480p or 720p with sound, a start frame only. A low-cost draft card; its preview above follows a kid on a skateboard down a sunlit street, a dog running alongside.
- Seedance 1.5 Pro: 4 to 12 seconds, 480p to 1080p, sound on by default, a start frame only. The lowest per-second start in the family and a fine final render for many social clips; its preview is a cyclist cresting a coastal road at golden hour.
The Seedance page goes deeper on the family and collects prompts for it. The rule of thumb: find the shot on 1.5 Pro or 2.0 Mini, render the keeper on 2.5 for length and frames, or on 2.0 for 4K.
Kling 3.0's lineup: Standard, V3 Turbo, 4K, O3 Omni
Kling is Kuaishou's line, and five cards are on sale here; this page covers four, and Kling O3 Omni 4K sits beside O3 Omni. Every one takes a start frame and runs 3 to 15 seconds, with 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 as the shapes; size and sound are where they part.
- KlingKling 3.03 to 15 s · 720p, 1080p
- KlingKling V3 Turbo3 to 15 s · 720p, 1080p
- KlingKling 3.0 4K3 to 15 s · 4K
- KlingKling O3 Omni3 to 15 s · 720p, 1080p
- Kling 3.0: the card to set against Seedance 2.5. 720p or 1080p, sound on by default with a switch that lowers the price, and a 2,500 character prompt cap. Its preview is the iced coffee pour.
- Kling V3 Turbo: 720p or 1080p with no soundtrack at all, for clips cut under a voiceover.
- Kling 3.0 4K: native 4K at every length, sound on by default; the Kling answer to Seedance 2.0's 4K tier, and with Kling O3 Omni 4K the dearest Kling card per second.
- Kling O3 Omni: 720p or 1080p, silent until you switch sound on, so it opens at the lowest Kling price. Kling O3 Omni 4K sits beside it.
One dated note: Kling 4.0 appears on Kling's own site as of October 7, 2026. The cards above are the 3.0 line and O3 Omni, which is what DreamClip sells today; the Kling page tracks what is live.
Up to 30 seconds vs up to 15: long takes
Length is the headline difference, and it is bigger than it reads. Fifteen seconds fits a small story in one take. Thirty seconds fits a whole spot: an establishing shot, a move in, a beat, a resolve, without a cut. Seedance 2.5 is the only card on this page that renders past 15 seconds, at any whole second up to 30.
| What you are making | Length it needs | Seedance 2.5 | Kling 3.0 |
|---|---|---|---|
| A reaction or a reveal | Length it needs3 to 5 s | Seedance 2.5Starts at 4 s | Kling 3.0Starts at 3 s |

| A 4K master | Length it needsAny | Seedance 2.51080p is the top size here; use Seedance 2.0 | Kling 3.0Use Kling 3.0 4K |
Long is not free. Both cards are priced by the second, so a 30 second Seedance 2.5 clip costs seven and a half times a 4 second one at the same settings, and a long take gives any model more time to drift from the prompt. The end frame helps a 30 second take: give Seedance 2.5 the image the clip must arrive at, and the last seconds have somewhere to go.
ByteDance describes the family as multi-shot. On DreamClip you can ask for a cut in the prompt and see whether Seedance 2.5 gives you one, then ask Kling 3.0 the same. Treat it as something to test for your brief, not a promise either way.
Sound: both render audio, in different ways
Both flagships render a soundtrack with the picture, and both have it on by default with a switch. The character differs. Three of the Seedance previews on this page, the street vendor, the kid on a skateboard and the coastal road, were made with natural sound in the prompt, and that is where the family is comfortable: a bed of real-sounding atmosphere under the picture. Kling 3.0 is at its best on the sound of the thing on screen: a pour, a sizzle, a tyre on gravel, the hiss of a hot pan.
Neither is the first pick for a spoken line. When the clip has to talk, open Veo 3.1 for that shot; Veo 3.1 vs Kling 3.0 sets out why.
The switch and the siblings
- Seedance 2.5, 2.0, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini and 1.5 Pro all render sound by default and all have a switch. On Seedance 1.5 Pro turning it off lowers the price; on the other four the price is the same either way.
- Sound is on by default on Kling 3.0 and Kling 3.0 4K; switching it off lowers the cost per second.
- Kling O3 Omni starts silent and renders sound when switched on. Kling V3 Turbo has no soundtrack.
- For anything you will score or voice later, render silent where the switch saves money, on Kling 3.0 or Seedance 1.5 Pro, and spend the saving on another take.
Nature, weather and scale shots
This is Seedance ground. The hummingbird on the Seedance 2.5 card is from our hero reel, and among the family's previews here are a vendor's steam at dusk and a coastal road at golden hour: open air, moving light, atmosphere. Seedance 2.5's 21:9 shape and 30 second ceiling suit an establishing shot that drifts over a landscape and arrives somewhere, and its end frame lets you decide where.
Kling 3.0 renders landscapes well too, and on a 10 to 15 second shot the two can be close. Where they may part is scale: a flock, a crowd, a weather front, a city from above. Run the prompts below on both and watch whether the number of things on screen stays stable while the camera moves.
Prompts for scale, to run on both
- Aerial, 21:9 on Seedance 2.5 and 16:9 on Kling 3.0: a storm front crossing a wheat field at dusk, the grass flattening in waves ahead of the rain, lightning inside the cloud, wind and distant thunder.
- A flock of starlings turning over a marsh at sunset, the shape folding and unfolding, a slow push in from a wide shot, birds audible.
What to watch: a horizon that stays level, a flock that keeps its count, rain that falls in one direction, and the last second still on task. Our video generator page collects more prompts of this kind across every model on sale.
Product and people shots
This is Kling ground. The iced coffee pour on the Kling 3.0 card is the family's case in one clip: an object with weight, a liquid that behaves, light on a surface, the pour's own sound. For a product in a 9:16 ad or a 1:1 feed post, Kling 3.0 renders the shape natively and costs less per second than Seedance 2.5 at the same size.
People in motion is closer. The Seedance 2.0 Fast preview, a street vendor at a sizzling pan, shows the family's candid, handheld register. Kling 3.0 leans toward bodies with weight: a jump that lands, a coat that swings, a dancer holding a balance through a 12 second take.
Prompts for products and people, to run on both
- 1:1 on Kling 3.0, 1:1 on Seedance 2.5: a matte black water bottle on a wet stone, a single drop running down the side, soft top light, a slow orbit of 90 degrees, the drop audible.
- 9:16: a runner ties a shoe on a kerb at first light, stands, and jogs out of frame, traffic waking up behind, handheld.
- 16:9: a potter centres clay on a wheel, hands wet, the wheel humming, a slow push in to the hands.
What to watch: five fingers throughout, a label that stays legible or stays soft, a face that returns from a turn as the same face. Product prompts written for the Kling family are on the Kling page; the text to video page has ad-ready prompts for both.
Image to video with the same frame
Every card on this page takes a start frame: the photo becomes the first frame, and the prompt only has to say what moves. Open Seedance 2.5 with a start frame or Kling 3.0 with a start frame. Run the same photo on both and the difference is the one that decides most projects.
Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 Fast also take an end frame: two images, and the clip travels from one to the other. That is how a product turns from its front to its back, how a room goes from day to night, how a 30 second shot arrives where you planned. Seedance 2.0 Fast adds a reference mode, up to nine photos with the start image counted, for a subject that has to be the same subject across clips.
Start frame only on the Kling side; start and end on Seedance 2.5 and 2.0; start, end and reference photos on Seedance 2.0 Fast; start only on Seedance 2.0 Mini and 1.5 Pro. The specs block above prints the same facts from the catalog.
- Match the shape to the photo. Seedance 2.5 renders 4:3 and 3:4 as well as the usual three, so an old photo in 4:3 keeps its frame; Kling 3.0 renders it at 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1.
- With an end frame, keep both photos the same shape and the same lens; a mismatch is where the middle of the clip warps.
For more on starting from stills, the image to video page covers it model by model.
Where each falls short
Seedance 2.5
- 1080p is its top size on DreamClip; a 4K master from the Seedance side is a Seedance 2.0 job.
- The most expensive Seedance card per second at every size they share, and dearer than Kling 3.0 at 720p and 1080p. Draft on a smaller card.
- No reference photos; that mode lives on Seedance 2.0 Fast.
- A long take has more time to drift; an end frame gives it a destination.
Kling 3.0
- Fifteen seconds is the ceiling. A 20 or 30 second shot is two or three Kling clips cut together.
- Takes a start frame, but no end frame or reference photos, on any Kling card here.
- Three shapes. No 21:9, 4:3 or 3:4.
- The standard card renders 720p or 1080p; 4K has its own card at a higher rate per second.
- Kling 4.0, announced on Kling's own site, is not on sale here as of October 2026.
The starting price sits on each card, and the size and the sound switch move it from there. That number, not this page, is the one to budget from.
How to run both on DreamClip
Compare's first pass is a sketch: each lane at its own cheapest setting, Seedance 2.5 at 4 seconds and 480p, Kling 3.0 at 3 seconds and 720p. For the like-for-like test, render the pair again in the Video studio at the same shape, 720p and a length both take, such as 5 or 10 seconds.
- Start Compare on video with Seedance 2.5 and Kling 3.0 in the first two lanes, and fill the other two with siblings: Seedance 2.0 Fast for the family's cheaper look, Kling O3 Omni for a second Kling opinion.
- Write the prompt once: camera, subject and one action, setting and light, one or two sounds.
- Run it. Read the four lanes for motion and look, not polish; nothing is charged for a lane that fails.
- Play each lane twice: once with the sound down for the picture, once for the soundtrack.
- Render the like-for-like pair, then the keeper, in the Video studio: Seedance 2.5 or Kling 3.0 at the real length, size, shape and frames. For 4K, take the proven prompt to Kling 3.0 4K or Seedance 2.0 and render it again.
The split, once your own clips are in: Seedance 2.5 for the long take and the end frame, Kling 3.0 for the product, the square frame and the lower cost per second, the siblings for drafts and 4K.
Questions
Is Seedance better than Kling?
Neither is better at everything. Seedance 2.5 wins on length, up to 30 seconds, on an end frame, and on wide landscape shapes. Kling 3.0 wins on products and people in square or vertical frames, on cost per second at the sizes they share, and on a native 4K card. Put one prompt through both in Compare and let your own clip decide.
What is the difference between Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5?
Seedance 2.0 goes from 4 to 15 seconds and from 480p up to native 4K on DreamClip; Seedance 2.5 goes from 4 to 30 seconds at 480p, 720p or 1080p. Each accepts a start and an end frame, and each has sound on by default. Pick 2.0 for 4K, 2.5 for length.
What is Seedance Pro?
The Pro card on sale here is Seedance 1.5 Pro: 4 to 12 seconds at 480p, 720p or 1080p, sound on by default, a start frame only, and the lowest per-second start in the family.
Can Seedance make a 30 second video?
Yes. Seedance 2.5 renders any length from 4 to 30 seconds on DreamClip. Give it an end frame for a long take, so the last seconds have somewhere to arrive. The other Seedance cards stop at 15 seconds, and Seedance 1.5 Pro at 12.
Does Seedance 2.5 generate sound?
Yes. Seedance 2.5 makes a soundtrack along with the picture; it is on by default and a switch turns it off. The same is true of Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini and 1.5 Pro, and of Kling 3.0.
Which Seedance card should I start with?
Seedance 2.0 Fast is the card the Video studio opens on, and it has the family's reference-photo mode. For the cheapest drafts, Seedance 1.5 Pro or Seedance 2.0 Mini. For the keeper, Seedance 2.5 for length and frames, or Seedance 2.0 for 4K.
Is Seedance 2.5 cheaper than Kling 3.0?
No. At the sizes they share, 720p and 1080p, Kling 3.0 costs less per second than Seedance 2.5, even with its sound on. For a lower start, open a smaller Seedance card; Seedance 1.5 Pro and Seedance 2.0 Mini start lowest in the family. Every Seedance and Kling card in the studio states its starting price.
