How to Use Seedance 2.0 and Where It Is Available

Published By DreamClip

How to use Seedance 2.0, in short: open the Seedance 2.0 card, write the shot, the action, the light and one sound, and draft 5 seconds at 480p or 720p before you spend on size. Switch to Seedance 2.0 Fast for quick drafts and for clips built from several reference photos, to Seedance 2.5 for single takes up to 30 seconds, and stay on Seedance 2.0 at 4K for a large screen.

Where to use it: ByteDance makes Seedance and offers it through its own apps and its BytePlus platform, region by region. On DreamClip, Seedance 2.0 runs in the browser in the Video studio, in the US and everywhere else DreamClip works, beside four other Seedance cards from 1.5 Pro to 2.5.

The steps below follow the studio's controls in the order you meet them, and a Seedance run that fails releases its hold, so two or three 480p drafts are the cheapest way in.

What Seedance 2.0 is and who makes it

Seedance is the video model family from ByteDance, the company behind TikTok and CapCut, built by its Seed research team. ByteDance describes Seedance 2.0 as a joint audio and video model that can take text, images, audio and video as input (checked October 2026). It is known for natural motion, subjects that stay steady through a clip, and big landscapes that keep their scale.

On DreamClip, Seedance 2.0 renders 4 to 15 seconds at 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K, in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 or 21:9, or Auto, with sound on by default. It runs from a text prompt or a start frame, and it takes an end frame too. Seedance 2.5 is the newest Seedance card here; this guide sticks to versions ByteDance has released and does not guess at the next one.

Where Seedance 2.0 is available, including the US

Seedance reaches people through several doors, and which ones are open depends on where you live and what you want to do with it. As of October 2026:

Is there a Seedance 2.0 free trial?

Not a Seedance-only one. A free DreamClip account gets a small allowance of credits that refills every 24 hours, and every model is open to it, but that allowance does not cover a clip on Seedance 2.0 or any other 2.x card, even at the shortest length and smallest size. The one Seedance clip it covers is a silent Seedance 1.5 Pro draft at its shortest and smallest. The seven-day trial, which is paid, carries a larger allowance that covers a few short clips on the 2.x cards. The Seedance cards each show their own starting price.

Each card below plays a clip that model rendered. The 2.0 Fast preview is a handheld shot of a street vendor flipping noodles under warm bulbs; the 2.0 Mini preview is a kid skateboarding down a sunlit street with a dog alongside.

Seedance Pro Fast, a name that turns up in searches, usually means an earlier ByteDance tier from the 1.x generation (as of October 2026). On DreamClip the fast slot is Seedance 2.0 Fast, the 2.0 card built for lower latency.

How to use Seedance 2.0 for your first text-to-video clip

  1. Open the Video studio on Seedance 2.0. The mode reads Text to Video.
  2. Pick the shape for where the clip will play. Seedance takes Auto plus six ratios: 9:16 for a phone, 16:9 for a laptop or a TV, 21:9 for a letterbox look, and 1:1, 4:3 or 3:4 for feeds and framed posts.
  3. Pick 480p or 720p and 5 seconds for the first draft. Seedance is priced by the second and by size, so drafts belong at the small end.
  4. Write the prompt: shot and camera, subject and action, setting and light, one sound. For example: cinematic aerial, slow push forward, a red fishing boat leaves a harbour at dawn, gulls following, mist on the water, the engine and the gulls audible.
  5. Run it. The studio holds the clip's price while it renders and takes it only when the clip is delivered; if the run fails, the hold goes back to your balance.
  6. When the draft works, raise the size or the length, one at a time, and render the keeper.

Our Seedance page has more prompts beside the clips they made, and the text to video page has starting points for every model family.

Seedance image to video from one frame

Seedance image to video starts from your photo: attach it as the start frame and the model animates from that first frame. Open Seedance 2.0 with a start frame, add the photo, and describe the motion rather than the picture, because the model can already see the subject, the setting and the light.

What you attachCards that take itUse it for
A start frameCards that take itAll fiveUse it forA product, a portrait or a landscape brought to life
A start and an end frameCards that take itSeedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast and 2.5Use it forA transition that must land on a second image: day to night, closed to open
Reference photosCards that take itSeedance 2.0 FastUse it forSeveral subjects in one clip, up to nine photos with the start frame counted

References and an end frame do not combine: a run with reference photos takes a start frame at most. Keep the first second calm, match the shape to the photo, and give each clip one motion. Our image to video page walks through the method with examples.

Sound on and off

Every Seedance card renders sound with the picture, and it is on by default: ambience, effects and the sound of the action you describe. Give it one line, a source and a space: waves on the rocks below, wind across the ridge, a crowd far off. Write "no music" when you will score the clip yourself.

On the four 2.x cards, sound does not change the price: Seedance 2.5, 2.0, 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini cost the same with it on or off, so leave it on unless you want silence. On Seedance 1.5 Pro sound costs extra, so switch it off there when the clip will run under music or a voiceover.

Prompt patterns for nature, weather and scale

Seedance is at its strongest on big natural scenes: weather, water, landscapes and animals at a distance, with the camera moving through them. These five prompts made clips on our Seedance page, rendered on Seedance 2.5; each pattern carries over to Seedance 2.0.

Quoted as written from our Seedance page, where each made a clip.
PromptThe pattern
Aerial drone descending through low cloud to reveal a crimson sailboat carving a white wake across cobalt Arctic water beside a towering iceberg, crisp polar sunlight, cinematic gradeScale from a small subject beside a huge one
Cinematic wide shot: green aurora ripples over a glassy arctic lake, a lone figure stands on the black shore watching, reflections doubling the sky, stars wheeling faintly above, slow drifting camera, awe-inspiring scale, photorealA lone figure sets the size of the sky
Neo-Tokyo backstreet at night in heavy rain, neon signage reflecting in black puddles, a lone figure walking toward camera, steam venting from grates, anamorphic lens flares, slow dolly inWeather written as what it does to surfaces
Cinematic aerial: a lone vintage car threads through towering red sandstone canyons at golden hour, a plume of dust trailing behind it, long shadows raking the rock, camera sweeping forward and up, epic landscape, photorealA moving subject that leaves a trace
Extreme slow motion macro: a hummingbird hovers beside a rain-soaked hibiscus, water droplets suspended in golden backlight, iridescent emerald-to-magenta feathers, 1000fps phantom camera lookScale the other way: macro and slow motion
  • Give the scene a scale cue: a lone figure, a small boat, a car on a road.
  • Describe weather by what it does: rain sheeting across towers, sand lifting off a crest.
  • Pick one camera move and say its direction: descending, sweeping forward and up, drifting sideways.
  • Name the hour. Dawn, golden hour or night does more for a landscape than any adjective.

Where Seedance falls short

  • Seedance 2.0 stops at 15 seconds; for a longer single take, Seedance 2.5 runs to 30.
  • 4K is on Seedance 2.0 only, and it is the most expensive way to run any Seedance card.
  • Spoken dialogue with lips that match the words is not its strongest suit. When a character must talk, run Veo 3.1 beside it in Compare; our Veo 3.1 prompt guide covers writing for speech.
  • Words in the frame and fast hands close to the lens slip, as they do on every video model.
  • Reference photos work on Seedance 2.0 Fast only, and never together with an end frame.

For product shots and motion-heavy clips, Kling is the family to test it against; our guide on how to use Kling AI covers that side.

Running Seedance against other models in Compare

  1. In Compare, leave the switch on video, tick Seedance 2.0, and add up to three rivals for the thing you care about: Seedance 2.5 for length, Kling 3.0 for motion, Veo 3.1 (with audio) for speech.
  2. Paste one prompt. Every lane renders from text alone, in 16:9, at its model's shortest length and smallest size, so test a landscape idea here and keep start frames for the Video studio.
  3. The lanes are separate runs with separate prices; if one fails, its hold is released and the rest carry on.
  4. Take the clip you would post back to the Video studio on its own model, then set the shape, size and length for the placement.

The video generator page shows clips from every family side by side, if you want to see the range before you write a prompt.

Questions

How do I use Seedance 2.0?

Open Seedance 2.0 in the DreamClip Video studio, pick a shape, a size and a length, write the shot, the action, the light and one sound, and run it. Draft at 480p or 720p and 5 seconds, then render the keeper larger.

Is Seedance 2.0 available in the US?

Yes. On DreamClip it runs in the browser in the US and wherever DreamClip is available. In ByteDance's own apps, Seedance availability has varied by region, so check the app in your country.

Is there a Seedance 2.0 free trial?

Not a Seedance-only one. A free DreamClip account gets a small allowance that refills every 24 hours. It does not cover a Seedance 2.0 clip; the only Seedance clip it covers is a silent Seedance 1.5 Pro draft at its shortest length and smallest size. The paid seven-day trial carries a larger allowance that covers a few short clips on the 2.x cards. A Seedance run that fails is never charged.

What is the difference between Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.5?

On DreamClip, Seedance 2.5 runs single takes up to 30 seconds at up to 1080p, while Seedance 2.0 runs up to 15 seconds and adds 4K. Both take a start and an end frame and render sound.

Can Seedance turn a photo into a video?

Yes. All five Seedance cards take a start frame. Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast and 2.5 also take an end frame, and Seedance 2.0 Fast takes up to nine reference photos, the start frame counted.

Does Seedance 2.0 make sound?

Yes, on by default, and switching it off does not change the price on the 2.x cards. On Seedance 1.5 Pro, sound costs extra.

Is DreamClip part of ByteDance?

No. DreamClip is an independent studio that runs ByteDance's Seedance models beside models from Google, Kuaishou and other makers. It is not affiliated with ByteDance, Dreamina, CapCut or Higgsfield.
